The practice had changed. The website needed to catch up.

When Moira Laidlaw trained in Craniosacral Reflexology, it changed the direction she wanted to take Intune Holistic Therapies. The new specialism needed a more prominent place, but the therapeutic reflexology and complementary treatments she already offered still mattered to local clients and visitors staying around East Portlemouth and Salcombe.

Her existing Wix website no longer explained that changing focus clearly. Moira wanted to consolidate the content, make the treatment choices easier to understand and move to UK-based hosting. She also wanted to be able to make straightforward changes herself, without having to become the person responsible for every technical detail.

After a recommendation from Suzi Garrod, Moira asked Cornerstone to create a new WordPress website. The project combined website planning, design and build with logo reconstruction, portrait and woodland photography, managed hosting and the supporting services needed after launch.

What the project included

  • Website planning, design and WordPress build
  • A clearer structure for three areas of treatment
  • Logo reconstruction and a practical family of logo assets
  • Portrait and woodland photography
  • Price, qualification and contact information
  • A straightforward enquiry route without online booking or payment
  • Client access and a face-to-face website walkthrough
  • Managed hosting and maintenance
  • Domain management and email
  • Ongoing website updates when Moira prefers Cornerstone to handle them

Changing the focus without losing the rest of the practice

Craniosacral Reflexology was the immediate reason for rebuilding the website. Moira wanted it to become a more visible part of her work, but not at the expense of the treatments that existing clients already knew her for.

The new site organises the practice around three clear routes: Craniosacral Reflexology, Therapeutic Reflexology and Complementary Therapies. Each has enough room to explain what it involves, while the homepage helps visitors see how the choices relate to one another.

This gave the new specialism proper prominence without making the rest of the practice feel like an afterthought. It also made future changes easier. Moira can develop one part of the offer without having to reorganise the whole website each time her work moves forward.

A change in direction did not mean starting the business again.

The new structure gives Craniosacral Reflexology greater prominence while keeping Moira’s established treatments easy to find.

Help people understand their options before asking them to enquire

People looking for reflexology or a complementary treatment may recognise how they feel without knowing the name of the treatment they should ask about. Presenting a long list of services would leave them to work out the differences alone.

The website gives each treatment family a clear introduction and its own detailed page. Therapeutic Reflexology brings together foot, facial, crystal, hand and Zone Facelift treatments. Complementary Therapies has a separate route for Headspace Harmony and Resonance Sound Healing. Craniosacral Reflexology can be explained as the developing focus of the practice rather than being buried among shorter descriptions.

Moira supplied and refined the specialist wording throughout the project. Cornerstone helped organise it into a website journey, deciding where a shorter explanation was enough and where a subject needed its own page. The result keeps Moira’s knowledge and voice at the centre while making the information easier to follow online.

Visitors should not need to understand every treatment before they can take the next step.

Clear routes and useful explanations help people explore the options before contacting Moira directly.

The right website does not need every available feature

Moira arranges appointments personally around her clients and other commitments. An automated diary or online checkout would have added a system she did not want and made the website less suited to the way the practice operates.

Instead, the site concentrates on the information people need before getting in touch. It provides treatment details, prices, Moira’s background and qualifications, testimonials about the treatments, location information and clear contact routes.

Potential clients can understand the practice and decide whether to enquire. Moira can then discuss the circumstances and arrange an appointment herself. The technology supports the conversation rather than trying to replace it.

Useful functionality begins with how the business actually works.

Direct contact suited Moira better than adding an unwanted booking and payment system.

Reconstructing the logo and building a visual language around it

Moira already had a logo idea based around feet, leaves and connection, but the original artwork was not available in a form that could be used consistently across the new website.

Cornerstone reconstructed the foot motif, obtained the correct typeface and prepared a family of logo versions for different placements. The work preserved Moira’s original idea while giving her dependable assets she could use beyond a single page or image.

The wider design developed the same thinking through a progression of deep and lighter greens, branching forms and tree photography created by Cornerstone. The trees were chosen for what they suggested about connection, change and the different paths people take. Portraits of Moira gave the site an equally important human presence.

The original idea belonged to Moira.

Cornerstone reconstructed it into a usable logo family and carried its themes through the website and photography.

Manageable by Moira, supported by Cornerstone

From the outset, Moira wanted to make simple changes such as adding qualifications or posting holiday information. The WordPress build gives her that option, and Cornerstone followed the launch with a face-to-face walkthrough of the website.

Being able to update the site does not mean Moira has to do everything herself. She may ask Cornerstone to make a change when that is quicker or simpler, while retaining the ability to manage straightforward content when she wants to.

Cornerstone continues to provide hosting, maintenance, domain management and email. The same team that planned the website remains familiar with how it fits together and is available when the business changes again.

Client control and practical support can coexist.

Moira can update the website herself or ask Cornerstone to take care of a change when that suits her better.

A website that reflects where the practice is going

The new Intune Holistic Therapies website gives Moira room to develop Craniosacral Reflexology without losing the established treatments that remain part of the business. Potential clients can explore three clear areas of treatment, learn about the person they would be meeting and contact her in the way she prefers to work.

The logo reconstruction, photography and woodland-led design make the site recognisably Intune, while the WordPress build and continuing Cornerstone support keep it practical behind the scenes.

The result is a website shaped around a genuine change in the practice, with enough flexibility to change again as Moira’s work develops.
