The right stay depends on who is coming with you
Lower Coombe Royal has six places to stay within eight acres of historic gardens and woodland near Kingsbridge. There are cottages, an apartment, three safari lodges and a fully accessible lodge. Some are suited to couples, others to families or groups. Dogs are welcome, children have room to explore and guests with accessibility needs require clear information before they can decide whether a property will work for them.
Julie and Paul asked Cornerstone to create a new website as they moved their booking operation to Hostaway. The site needed to introduce the whole estate, give each accommodation option enough room to be understood and make it easier for guests to move from browsing to the correct booking page.
The project brought website planning, design and build together with identity refinement and a clear structure for the information guests regularly need. Cornerstone continues to provide hosting, maintenance, domain management, email and ongoing website support.
What the project included
- Website planning, design and build
- Refinement of the existing visual identity for consistent digital use
- Individual pages for six accommodation options
- Shared accommodation layouts and facilities information
- Direct Hostaway booking routes for each property
- Detailed accessibility and sustainability content
- Testimonials and Instagram content within the website
- Managed hosting and maintenance
- Domain management and email
- Ongoing website updates and support

Six stays need more than six short descriptions
The Coach House, The Loft, Eucalyptus Lodge, Orchard Lodge, Magnolia Lodge and Cedar Lodge all belong to Lower Coombe Royal, but they offer different kinds of stay. Putting them into one long list would leave guests doing too much of the work themselves.
The website gives every property its own page and keeps the recurring information in a familiar order. Guests can see the accommodation type, capacity, bedrooms, facilities, setting and practical arrangements, then explore the images and booking options without losing their place in the wider site.
The shared structure makes comparison easier while leaving room for the details that distinguish each property. Eucalyptus can explain its accessible facilities properly. The safari lodges can show their different positions within the grounds, while the cottages and apartment can present the space and arrangements that matter to their guests.

One estate does not mean one kind of holiday.
Clear individual property pages help guests compare the options and find the stay that suits them.
A clearer route from choosing to booking
Hostaway handles Lower Coombe Royal’s availability and reservations. The website’s job is to help people reach that point with a clear idea of which property they want.
An early Hostaway WordPress plugin proved unreliable. Cornerstone replaced it with direct links to the external booking system, reducing the site’s dependence on a tool that was not working consistently.
The booking journey was then refined further. Instead of every Book Now button leading to a general search page, each property page was connected to its matching Hostaway listing. Guests who have chosen The Coach House or Cedar Lodge can continue to the relevant availability and booking information without having to find the property again.

Once a guest has chosen a property, do not ask them to choose it twice.
Each accommodation page leads directly to its corresponding Hostaway booking route.
Some questions need proper answers before a guest can book
Lower Coombe Royal’s wider information covers travelling with children, bringing dogs, the essentials provided and how to reach the estate. Dedicated sustainability and accessibility pages give important subjects more room than a small panel or generic reassurance could provide.
The accessibility information for Eucalyptus Lodge is particularly detailed. It covers parking, level access, doorway widths, bedroom arrangements, the wet room, kitchen, living space, outdoor areas and use of the hot tub. Julie supplied supporting photographs, and the website gives guests a clear route to the statement from the main visitor journey.
This level of detail matters. Guests with specific needs can assess the accommodation before making an enquiry or booking, while Julie and Paul have a reliable place to explain what is available and invite a conversation where individual requirements need to be discussed.

Useful detail gives people confidence to make their own decision.
Accessibility, family, dog and practical information is available before a guest commits to a stay.
Refining an identity that already belonged to the client
Julie had created the original Lower Coombe Royal logo concept in Canva. It established the direction, but the available artwork was too small for dependable use across the website and other digital services.
Cornerstone redrew and adapted the identity at a usable resolution, refining the balance of the wording and fern elements and preparing versions for different placements. Further variants were later created to meet the restrictions of Google Rentals.
The work was deliberately an identity refinement rather than a new brand imposed on the business. It preserved the character Julie had already chosen while giving the website a consistent set of practical assets.

The starting point was Julie’s idea.
Cornerstone refined the existing identity so it could work consistently across the website and connected services.
The website has kept moving with the business
Julie and Paul reviewed the new website closely before approving it to go live in December 2023. They continued refining it afterwards and asked Cornerstone to show them how to make straightforward content changes themselves.
Since launch, Cornerstone has remained involved as the website, booking arrangements and connected services have changed. Some updates have been visible to guests, while others have been the routine work needed to keep the site dependable and its external connections working properly.
When Lower Coombe Royal won Gold for Glamping Business of the Year at the 2024 Devon Tourism Awards, Cornerstone added the recognition to the homepage. The award belongs to Julie, Paul and the accommodation business they have built. The website gives achievements such as this an appropriate place within the wider story.
Hosting, maintenance, domain management and email are also looked after by Cornerstone. Julie and Paul have one established contact who understands how the website and its supporting services fit together.

Support continued after the website went live.
Cornerstone remains responsible for the website and its supporting services as Lower Coombe Royal develops.
One website, with a clear route to the right stay
The Lower Coombe Royal website brings six different accommodation options together without making them feel interchangeable. Guests can explore the estate, compare the properties and find detailed practical information before continuing to the correct Hostaway booking route.
For Julie and Paul, the website sits within a continuing service that covers hosting, maintenance, domain management, email and ongoing improvements. They can handle straightforward content changes themselves and return to Cornerstone when the work needs more involvement.
The result is a website that supports the way Lower Coombe Royal actually operates: a varied accommodation business, run by real people, with plenty for guests to consider before they book.
